Where We Work

Learn more about our programs in Colombia, Egypt, India, Kosovo, South Africa, South Sudan, UK, United Arab Emirates and the USA.

In these locations, our programs garner positive results in positive youth development, literacy improvement, English language learning, countering violent extremism, multi-cultural learning and teacher capacity development.

In Colombia, we work with Marymount School for Girls in Baranquilla and Visionarium to bring our literacy and multi-cultural curriculum in the form of peace education to girls and children from vulnerable backgrounds.

Outcomes of our programs include: literacy improvement, teacher capacity development, delivery of peace education and positive youth development.

Our Egypt programming is one of our Flagship Programs. We collaborate with Mish Madrasa, a community-based school in a disadvantaged area of Cairo. Global Sleepover also partners with the U.S. Embassy Egypt to run the Access Microenglish Scholarship Program.

Outcomes of our programming include: positive youth development, programming for countering violent extremism, literacy improvement and English language learning.

In India we work with community organizations, individual teachers, and individuals on English language instruction and literacy improvement with interactive stories. Outcomes of our programs include: positive youth development, literacy improvement and English language learning.

Our reading programs and workshops in Kosovo are conducted in Albanian, Serbian, Turkish, Roma and Bosnian languages. We partner with schools and communities throughout Kosovo. Through a partnership with FHI360’s Basic Education Project, our digital books were translated into 5 languages spoken in Kosovo.

Outcomes of our programming include: positive youth development, improved literacy and reading and improved English language learning.

In South Africa our work is focused on working with two specific populations: children in disadvantaged communities and children who are hard of hearing and/or deaf. Together with Picsterbooks, we work to develop and improve interactive and multi-media storybooks for the hard of hearing and/or deaf. We also work in collaboration with Picstersbooks and other schools to implement our storytelling curriculum.

In South Sudan we work in partnership with communities, families and community-based schools such as the American School of South Sudan to deliver programming.

In the United Arab Emirates we work in partnership with KDSL Global. Our Global Sleepover project-based K-5 interactive curricula is implemented in and international schools. We also run workshops for K-5 and provide teacher professional development. Outcomes of our programming include: positive youth development, project-based learning and global competency improvement, literacy improvement and teacher capacity development.

In the UK we work primarily in London with reading programs.
